We are a dedicated team of professional digital imaging experts based in Brighton, East Sussex, England. The Vault started as a professional photographic lab 8 years ago. Digital technology has changed the photographic industry. Many pro photo labs have shut down in recent years. Perhaps, they didn’t adapt quickly enough to meet the changing needs of practitioners in the photographic industry. Perhaps, they didn’t embrace the internet.
Our digital imaging lab is not just for professional photographers. Artists, amateur photographers, students have all embraced digital technology for a variety of purposes. We specialise in high quality large format digital printing. This service is used by photographers printing for exhibitions and for clients. Painters have their work copied onto film or scanned digitally in order to produce limited edition fine art prints. Students use digital prints in their degree shows.
The Vault is an avid supporter of film camera users. Film is still popular amongst professional and amateur photographers. We have an E6 line for processing transparency film, also known as slide film or dia postive). We also process negative film (C41). We can then print digitally by scanning the negative film or the transparencies.
We want to use this blog to highlight the work of our clients, discuss digital imaging with you, inspire photographers and other visual artsits, talk about the industry… We want to stimulate debate about digital image making.
