Photographer Esko Männikkö of Finland has won the handsome prize of £30,000 for his contribution to photography in 2007.
The size of the award alone makes it a prestigious event in the photographic calendar. I wonder if Esko will become a household name as a result.
The exhibition is on show at the Photographers Gallery in Great Newport Street, London from 8 Feb to 6 April 2008.
