One Digital Imaging Lab Closes

The need to keep up with investment in new technologies, changes in the digital imaging industry, customer services and financial pressures are highlighted once again as a Brighton lab 4corners photographic folded recently.

A large number of students especially from Brighton University have had their degree shows printed and mounted at The Vault. We’re convinced that the majority of Brighton Uni’s photography degree show has been prepared by The Vault! We shall see when we visit the show. We also hope that students develop a good working relationship with us and use in into their professional careers.

A nice surprise for printer Mark to receive a box of cherry liqueurs (which for some reason he thought he was going to eat all by himself!), and then a bottle of wine… nice to know that people appreciate his hard work!

We hope to sponsor more student and professional photography as we have done in past years when we get more staff in. At the moment we don’t have enough resources to develop some of our ideas. Hopefully the blog will help build a digital imaging community online as we make plans to have workshops and socials to bring together some knowledge sharing.

We have had a record numbers of E6, C41 black and white and colour film being processed. A client rang from Colchester today asking for advice on file preparation for direct printing. That reminded of the PDf’s we want to create to help clients prepare files and understand some useful Photoshop skills.
